Today’s post is about what’s in my makeup bag. Also the makeup products that I use are so affordable and are easily available. So let’s get into it,
Note that I’m super new to makeup and these products are my firsts and the only products I’ve ever tried. They worked fine for me and I’m sure there might be products better than these that will suit me and make me look even better. But for now as a beginner these products are so affordable and they did work for me.
Things I’ll talk about in this post:
1. Makeup products in my bag.
2. Price of each product.
3. At what price I got them for.
4. Where I got them from.
5. Mini review of each product.
6. Few Q&A at the end.
Here is the cute purple makeup bag that I use to store my makeup and carry it to places whenever I need to. It perfectly fits all my basic makeup products that I tend to use regularly. So let’s get into it one by one.
So the first product from my makeup bag is the foundation. Since I have a combination skin, maybelline fit me foundation absolutely suits me. This is the only foundation I’ve ever tried and stuck to it ever since.
I’m in the shade 310 Sun beige. It’s a bit lighter for me but the foundation oxidises over time and perfectly blends with my skin colour. The formula of this foundation is liquidy and gives a matte finish when applied.
I got this for Rs.350/- from Nykaa.
The concealer that I’m currently using is the maybelline fit me concealer in the shade 25 medium. This concealer is lighter for Indian skin tones and since I have dark circles, this concealer works well when used after applying an orange colour corrector. When applied alone, under eyes looks ashy as the shade is lighter for me. So the shade honey 30 would be a good match for my skin tone.
The formula of this concealer is thick enough and blends really well by concealing the dark spots and pigmentation on the face. I use it under my eyes and around my mouth. This product works well for me when applied with a beauty blender.
I got this for Rs.333/- from Nykaa.
3. Blush palette.
This is the third makeup product and it is a blush palette from Sivanna colours. It has a contour shade, a highlighter and six different blush colours. The colours in real are darker compared to the picture.
Since the contour shade is too light,I use it to powder my face after applying foundation. The blushes are good in doing their job but they are so powdery. This product works good but I’m sure there are blushes that are way better than this. So I don’t recommend this palette to anyone. But as a beginner I think it’s a good product for this price.
I got this for Rs.432/- from Flipkart.
The mascara I use is the maybelline hyper curl volum’ express in the easy wash variant. I personally like my mascara to be easily washable one.I do use a waterproof mascara when needed. This mascara is a really good one and it is available in the waterproof variant too. The best thing about this is it’s very affordable. It works so well to coat the eye lashes and stays on for a really long time.
I got this for Rs.224/- from Flipkart.
The eyeshadow palette that I use is the wet n wild eyeshadow. The colours in this palette are so good and suits well for Indian skin tones. The pigmentation is really good and this is one of the best purchases I’ve made. It is so affordable and good thing is that it’s cruelty free.
I got this for Rs.323/- from Flipkart.
6. Eye brow pencil and eye liner.
I’m not an eyeliner person but I do have it in case I want to use it. The eyeliner that I use is the Lakmé 9 to 5 liquid eyeliner. This is my favourite eyeliner and the tip of this eyeliner helps give a really good precision.
The Kajal that I use is the maybelline colossal Kajal. I used to use Kajal more but I’m currently not into kajal and eyeliners. But the maybelline colossal kajal is a very good product.
To fill in the brows, I use a brow pencil in the shade black.I have really thick eyebrows so I don’t need much product to fill my brows. But since I don’t get my eyebrows done often, I shape them with a brow pencil.I suggest to get the eye brow pencil in dark brown shade as it gives a natural look to the brows.
Lakmé 9 to 5 Eyeliner – Price: Rs.275/-
Maybelline colossal Kajal – Price: Rs.170/-
SBE natural eyebrow pencil – Price: Rs.500/-
I got it for Rs.203/- on Flipkart.
Makeup brushes are the obvious things in a makeup bag. I use my makeup brushes to set my powder, apply blush and eyeshadow. The brushes that I use are urban decay Naked 3 brushes. They are a set of twelve brushes and are very cheap. But the only thing is it doesn’t have a fan brush to apply highlighter.
I use a beauty blender to apply the foundation and concealer as it gives a very natural finish with it.
I got them from Flipkart.
I also keep BB creams in case I don’t want to apply any foundation.I have the pond’s white beauty BB cream which I don’t use often as it is very light for my skin and also gets cakey over time. So I don’t use it much.
I have the spinz BB cream which is great for Indian skin tone and is a mousse textured cream with a yellow tint to it.I use it when I don’t want to put any makeup on.
Pond’s BB cream – Price: Rs.145/-
Spinz BB cream – Price: Rs.165/-
The highlighter that I use is from wet n wild in the shade precious petals. This highlighter is great from medium to deep skin tones. It gives a goldish shine which looks great on yellow and neutral undertoned skin. For fairer skin tones the shade blossom glow would be great. The best thing about this is it is highly affordable and cruelty free.
I got it for Rs.373/- from Flipkart.
10. Makeup setting spray.
The next thing in my makeup bag is the wet n wild Photofocus natural finish setting spray. It sets the makeup really well. Upon using, it gives a natural and dewy finish to my makeup. It is a good makeup setting spray for a really less price.
I got it for Rs.323/- on Flipkart.
The last and the most obvious things are few lipsticks.I usually don’t keep all my lipsticks in my makeup bag. I only carry one or two lipsticks in it as per need.
So yeah, these are the makeup products that I keep in my makeup bag. I also keep few Bobby pins and hair ties in this bag in case I need them.
